It all began in the Fall of 2005 with a leap of faith.  As two professional women from New York City, we opened this gift and home accent boutique in the beautiful Pocono Mountains. We chose downtown Stroudsburg because we wanted to create a unique alternative to the big box stores. We also wanted to be part of a small town community… literally to be part of Main Street U.S.A. 

From our modest beginnings to today, we have evolved our store.  Some of our best ideas have come from our customers.  We have added many new brands and made many friends along the way. We also created this website, www.josephinesonmain.com to bring our community to you.

As a member of our downtown Stroudsburg community, we support many local efforts.  We are active members of the Downtown Stroudsburg Business Association and a member of the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau.
